Jim Cornette: Amidst the findings of Chris Benoit and what he has done to his family, we’ve still decided to celebrate his illustrious career
Vince Russo: Murderer or not, Benoit was still the hardest working man in professional wrestling in the history of professional wrestling. Either in WCW with me or WWF with Cornette, he’s shown the utmost respect for this business
Cornette: No matter what the case, Chris will still be missed. By me, by Russo… by all of us…. We will miss you Chris.

Mike Tenay: We must move on from the tragedy and look on for better days, welcome ladies & gentlemen Mike Tenay with Tazz on a special edition of Evolution
Tazz: Special is right, I’m usually on Thunder but due to the death of my good friend…. And yes good friend ‘cause WWE isn’t going to shut me up… but due to that, Jim Cornette & Vince Russo have decided to end the invasion at the new free per view
Tenay: It’s called Great American Bash, and it will feature the major champions of each brand unifying their belts
Tazz: We have to decided MWC’s & WCW’s official champions then those final deadlock titleholders face one another in a match creating an undisputed champion
Tenay: Right, all MWC & WCW titles will be unified and the winner of the WCW World Heavyweight Champion versus the MWC Champion will decided which company will be in 100% control
(Kevin Thorn comes out through the red smoke)
Tazz: And we’re ready for our first match which as I can see will feature the fanged freak… a former MWC Tag Team Champion and one of the first ever to compete in MWC’s Monster’s Ball hardcore match
Tenay: A true mystery, Thorn is attempting to use that Monster’s Ball experience in winning MWC’s Underground Hardcore Championship tonight
(Don’t Waste My Time plays and Elijah Burke comes out to some applause mostly for his effort at New Blood Rising)
Tenay: And here is the amazing superstar Elijah Burke, who almost come close in winning WCW’s Hardcore title
Tazz: Until he met Cactus Jack’s best friend, the barbwire back, and caught it across his back
Tenay: As we can tell from the large medical patch on his back which is a huge target for MWC’s resident vampire. Let’s go in the ring with MWC Ring Announcer Howard Finkel
(In the ring)
Howard Finkel: Welcome to MWC Evolution ladies & gentlemen… if you’re not apart of the revolution, experience the Evolution. This is your first match of the night, which will crowd the official MWC Underground Hardcore Champion who will face WCW’s Hardcore Champion at Great American Bash. Introducing first Jacksonville, Florida weighing in at 250 pounds…Elijah Burke! (Crowd cheers) And his opponent the former MWC World Tag Team Champion, Kevin Thorn! (Crowd mixes of cheers & boos)
MWC Underground Hardcore Championship
Elijah Burke vs. Kevin Thorn
(Thorn briefly took control of the match in the beginning using his can for most of his offense and trying to pin and get a early win but that’s until Elijah Burke, after several kick outs, starts to regain control)
Tazz: Burke is a man possessed with that towel he brings to the ring
Tenay: He’s is furiously choking Thorn with that towel as the red-clad vampire is turning blue… turns Thorn over and is still holding that towel in place with both knees in the back on the mat
Tazz: I don’t think vampires are suppose to bend like that
Tenay: And he finally releases the hold… goes for the pin… 2 count… and now he’s rolling out the ring… and he has a chair…
(Burke brings the chair in the ring, swings but misses. Thorn goes off the ropes, goes for the Clothesline but Burke reverses as he grabs Thorn’s arm… swings him around and lands a DDT into the chair)
Tazz: What a reversal… and the pin
Tenay: Another two count… and Burke is going BACK out the ring… and this time he has a garbage can and brings that in the ring
Tazz: Some house cleaning being done by Burke here… let’s see we’re he goes with this
Tenay: Sits the garbage can up on the reverse side but Thorn now busted open has Burke in his grasp… maybe be looking for that Sit-down Powerbomb Pin but Elijah is landing some hard elbows to the head… and Thorn lets Burke go… Burke off the ropes and lands that devastating Running STO on Thorn right into the garbage can!
Tazz: Good god! Reminds me of my old ECW days…
Tenay: Here’s the pin again… and again the 2 count kick out by Kevin Thorn
Tazz: Elijah is looking around but not looking frustrated… he’s actually… thinking… and tapping his head… is he serious? … He’s seriously planning his next move
Tenay: Yeah, he is, and he’s going BACK outside the ring again … and this time he’s pulling out a table
Tazz: Elijah Burke is literally pulling out all stops to win this Hardcore title. I don’t blame him, if I was him I would too especially if he has my informant Joey Numbers
Tenay: Oh, really? I heard about this guy when you work those Smackdown! shows, what’s he saying now?
Tazz: Well, rumor has it Shane is getting a rematch for the WCW Hardcore title against Cactus Jack next Friday on Thunder, so either way Burke wins here tonight he gets payback on either the Prince of Hardcore or the ECW Original
Tenay: Which goes will in his advantage but he has to get past Kevin Thorn first as he sets up the table leaning in the corner and goes after Thorn but Thorn is trying to fight out of Burke’s clutches with those hard rights to the face… Thorn off the ropes, misses the Running Yazuka Kick… turns around and Elijah Burke lands an Enzigurl to the back of Thorn’s head…
Tazz: Looks like Burke is setting the chair to the side in front of the table… he’s redecorating… a regular Home Shopping Network presentation… eat your heart out Martha Stewart
Tenay: And is seems someone is enjoying the free cable in our hotel as Burke is slamming Thorn’s face into that table… backs away… pulls his kneepads down? … wait… no… he’s not
Tazz: Got your ticket, Mike? Here comes the Express!
Tenay: Elijah runs… jumps off the chair… AND LANDS THE ELIJAH EXPRESS TO KEVIN THORN’S BACK SHATTERING THE TABLE INTO PIECES!!
Tazz: (As the crowd chants “MWC, MWC!”) How the hell did he pull that off… and he’s still moving to go for that pin

Tenay: And there’s your champion

Tazz: What a hardcore win by Burke here tonight
Tenay: And he’s guaranteed a spot at the Independence Extravaganza, July 29th

Edge: Alright, I know I traded shows briefly and kinda said some things about MWC but I’m back and this time I’m ready for us to reclaim our gold as tag team champions
Chris Jericho: You better be ready. There are a lot of people saying I’m making a big mistake trusting you again, you sure you’re here to stay
Edge: Positive… Scout’s honor! Rated Y2J will be champions once again and go on to successfully rule over the tag team division after Great American Bash. We will rule the tag team scene! Let’s go… our match is next
Chris Jericho: (as Edge leaves) Assclown…

(Screen comes back to the arena with Edge & Jericho coming to the ring to the remix of Metalligus & Break The Walls)
Tazz: Wow, now here’s a turn of events, look who went back to we’re he came from
Tenay: Trust me, I’m not too proud of him back in MWC but he’s here
Tazz: No, be glad, the Rated R Superstar & Y2J Chris Jericho belong together…there both divas
Tenay: That statement I agree with
(Bringing Da Hood 2 U plays as BROOKLYN! Is heard all around the arena)
Finkel: And from Brooklyn, New York by way of Flatbush, the former MWC World Tag Team Champions, Shad Gaspard & JTG…Cryme Tyme!
Tazz: Hey, it’s Cryme Tyme! I love these guys! Hey, Mike, I’d hide that watch if I we’re you
Tenay: Hmm, oh, thanks. Cryme Tyme, the last official tag team champs won their belts from Rated Y2J in a huge match on Evolution back in March we’re Cryme Tyme was very successful
Tazz: Let’s see if lighting strikes twice

Cryme Tyme vs. Rated Y2J
(The bell rings, JTG & Edge start off with a collar-elbow tie up)
Tazz: Cryme Tyme, it’s all or nothing… you gotta bring it
Tenay: Edge throws JTG off the ropes… shoulder block by Edge… Edge bounces off again but JTG gets up and lands a Spinning Back Elbow
(Both Cryme Tyme & Rated Y2J continue constant tags as Shad & Jericho start slowing down the match…)
Tenay: Jericho lands a Lionsault pin…2-count
Tazz: Shad needs to make a tag…Jericho is slowing the big man down… bad
(Jericho picks up Shad…. lands his trademark Enziguri…pin…2-count….)
Tenay: Jericho is stalking Shad…looks like Walls of Jericho coming…
(Jericho grabs Shad by the legs)
Tenay: Shad strong legs kicks Jericho off of him! Shad starts to slide to his corner but Jericho pulls him away from making the tag… And he tags Edge in
(As Jericho holds him Edge drops an elbow to Shad’s back and begins a knee-to-back submission)
Tazz: The crowd starts to chant him on and that’s the last thing you want is the crowd getting behind Shad… wait, he’s getting up
Tenay: And he’s up…. Edge-O-Matic which brings big Shad back down….
goes for the pin…. 2-count!
Tazzt: Shad’s taken a lot of punishment during this match…wait where’s JTG going
(Edge has Shad back down and has him in a face lock but JTG comes around and behind the refs back goes over and pulls Jericho down from the apron as Jericho’s face lands into the mat)
Tenay: The ref didn’t see it…but Jericho is steaming mad…tries to come in but the ref stops him…Edge doesn’t know what happen but it got him to let go of the hold
Tazz: Look at Shad! Shad makes the tag as the ref turns back around!
(JTG bounces around as the crowd gets excited…. he hits Edge with a standing dropkick…. Jericho comes in the ring and hits another standing dropkick…)
Tenay: JTG looks like a ball of fire! Throws Edge off the ropes…. Leg lariat drops Edge and JTG is on a roll….
(Jericho jumps off the top rope and lands a missile dropkick to JTG’s face)
Tazz: Beautiful missile dropkick but Shad comes…. Big boot! Jericho gets hit with the boot from Shad!
Tenay: Like a freak train out of nowhere…. But Edge lands a spear… Shad was broken in half and Edge is waiting for JTG to get up as the ref is tending to Shad… and another spear by Edge, this time to JTG
Tazz: Jericho drag himself over… and there’s the pin…and only 2 I thought it was over there
Tenay: And Jericho looks a little frustrated…
Tazz: and so does Edge who went through all that trouble for basically nothing
Tenay: Jericho goes to pick up JTG but he fights out of it as Shad is back on the apron…and he makes the tag! And here comes Shad, right hand to Jericho, another to Edge and Shad is on fire
Tazz: He better watch it before his momentum catches up with him
Tenay: And it looks like he’s waiting for Jericho to get up to deliver that boot… Jericho is up… Jericho ducks… and flips Shad over and he’s trying to lock in the Walls of Jericho
Tazz: Yeah, but he can’t turn it… that’s a lot of Shad to turn
Tenay: JTG looks to springboard… BUT EDGE CATCHES HIM IN MIDAIR WITH THE DROPKICK AND JERICHO HAS THE WALLS LOCKED IN
Tazz: How long will it take for him to tap…
Tenay: Maybe never as Shad is dragging himself toward the rope… inch by inch as the pain has to be throbbing on Shad’s lower back but he’s almost there… but Jericho pulls him back to the center of the ring
Tazz: It’s all about heart and how long you can last… and… there’s the tap
Tenay: And hook & by crook they’ve done it

Tazz: The ultimate opportunist has left an impact once again along with Y2J at will now go on to Great American Bash
(Backstage in Vince Russo’s office)
Vince Russo: Iceman (shakes his hand) what’s up? How’s your back?
Dean James: Fine… thanks to Cornette. Listen, I’m already an official Television Champion. Why am I still fighting tonight?
Russo: It’s a golden rule. A deal has been set between me & Cornette and the rules have to be followed
Dean: Yes, I see Cornette is a thorn in everyone’s side but listen I’ve defended this title too many times that I can count. What’s the point anymore?
Russo: Wow, Dean, You sound like you don’t want to be apart of the match tonight… got a Hollywood red carpet opener?
Dean: No, it’s not that. And Russell Crowe isn’t premiering ‘til the end of the year. Listen, I want the match. It just doesn’t seem right (sighs) I’m tired of embarrassing these people (crowd laughs), especially when you’ve beaten world champions for a TV title
Russo: Ok, so I’ll cut you a deal you lose this match tonight I’ll make sure you apart of the festivities of Great American Bash another way
Dean: What’s the catch?
Russo: Either you win tonight and keep the TV title or lose and open up door #2
Dean: Hmm, either way I’m making someone famous tonight
Russo: I await your decision

Tenay: It’s time for the main event; let’s go to Howard Finkel for the announcement
Finkel: This is you MWC main event of the night brought to you by WCW/MWC Great American Bash live July 29th at the birthplace of MWC & WCW, Madison Square Garden. This match will determine the new MWC Evolution Television Champion who will proceed to face the WCW United States Champion at Great American Bash. Introducing first….
(Symphony Of Destruction plays & Dean is met with some big cheers from the audience)
Finkel: From Sydney, Australia, he is… and please bare with me… the former WCW Television Champion, the longest reigning Television champion in e-federation history, the longest reigning champion in MWC history and the current MWC Evolution Television Champion (long pause) the Iceman Deeeeaaannn James!
Tazz: Listen to the ovation from these fans and it’s well deserved for this young man. I cannot express the potential this kid has… he is destined for greatness
Tenay: I agree and Dean made a very strong statement to Russo… I’m tired of defending a TV title to World title contenders. What do you think he’s implying Tazz?
Tazz: He’s ready for the next level
Tenay: He has a decision to make tonight, does he win the Television title and go on to basically defend his honor at the Bash or does he, as Russo puts it, go for door #2
Finkel: And his first opponent…
Tazz: More than one opponent?
(Can You Dig It? Plays and Booker T is met with some boos and some cheers)
Finkel: (As the fire pyro explodes) from Houston, Texas, he’s is the former 6-time World Champion and WCW Original… Boooker T!
Tazz: This man has had several chances in WCW to win it all and has been knocked down every time but I didn’t think he had to leave to go to MWC because of it
Tenay: But here he’ll get a chance to be in the extravaganza on July 29th and wrestle for the very prestigious TV title
Finkel: And there final opponent…
(Fire explodes as the Slow Chemical begins and the Big Red Machine makes his way toward the ring)
Finkel: Standing in 6’10, weighing in at 325 pounds, he is the Big Red Machine… Kane!
Tazz: You have to be kidding me? The Big Red Machine… back here in MWC?
Tenay: It’s a shock to see him back in MWC and in the title picture no less for the TV title… Vince Russo has outdone himself bringing back Kane
Tazz: Outdone himself? You mean he’s pulled a rabbit out of his hat…
Main Event – MWC Evolution Television Champion
Iceman Dean James vs. Kane vs. Booker T
Tenay: (As Booker, Kane & Iceman circle one another) Tazz, being a former professional wrestler, what do you suggest for each man to do to come out on top tonight
Tazz: (While Iceman & Booker go after one another exchanging blows) For Iceman, I would do what’s he’s doing now and stick to going after the man your stature and height in Booker T and be very weary of the big man lurking nearby
Tenay: Booker now going after Kane, as he’s trying to bring the big man down… toss off the ropes… and lands that Shuffle Side Kick knocking the big man over the ropes… should Booker continue doing what he’s doing?
Tazz: Of course, he may be no Rob Van Dam, but Booker’s feet are very underrated
Tenay: Booker catches Iceman off the top rope into a Powerslam … pin… and a 2- count
Tazz: And it’s a big part of his offense including his power, let’s not forget his size matches up well with Kane even thought he’s under him by 5 inches
Tenay: Booker with those Open Palm Chops in the corner to Iceman as his chest is turning red… and Iceman counters with some chops of his own… off the ropes… leapfrogs Booker… comes back… around they go and a beautiful Headscissors Takedown by the champ as he tosses the former World Champion outside…
Tazz: Iceman is similar to Booker thought, he has the height and power game but what makes him special is he’s fast… and not to mention he’s defended this title better than he runs that red carpet at those Hollywood premieres
Tenay: As Kane comes back in the ring… Iceman off the ropes again… but Booker catches his legs as Dean James lands face first on the mat… Booker back in and Kane and Kane lands a Big Boot to the face… pin… 2 count
Tazz: Kane is just strong, big & powerful… what else can I say… wait watch Iceman
Tenay: Iceman… with those Side Kicks to Kane’s left leg… and brings him down to one knee… off the ropes and he comes ring into Kane’s arms… and into the Side Slam and Kane is going to the top rope
Tazz: Have you ever seen a 7-foot man fly?
Tenay: I think I’m about to as Kane, waiting for Iceman and Booker to get to their feet… and lands a Flying Double Clothesline on both men… and that hand is up and it may be time for Kane to end this match
Tazz: Are we about to see the end of Iceman Dean James reign?
Tenay: Booker, the first man up but he grabs the ref
Tazz: He saw the hand up… that’s a ring veteran
Tenay: and Kane comes over to pick Booker up… and Booker lands a blatant Low Blow as the ref was out of position after being pulled by Booker
Tazz: When a title is on the line you do anything to win it…. Booker better watch the champ, he’s on his feet
Tenay: Iceman turns around… Standing SideKick by Booker… I don’t think he got all of it but it’s enough to knock the champ down
Tazz: And it looks as Booker is heating up…
Tenay: Kane is slowly getting up… Booker sees it… Scissors Kick connected! … Scissors Kick by Booker and Kane & the champ is down and Booker is the only one left standing
Tazz: And here’s a show for everyone… Spinaroonie time!
Tenay: But Dean is back up and Booker is still spinning… Booker is up… and Dean James gives the Book Man a Super Kick of his own and he falls into the corner
Tazz: And Dean does the Cutthroat taunt… shades of Chris Benoit
Tenay: As Dean points up to the roof… I don’t think he’s… he is, as he lifts a dazed Booker on the top rope turnbuckle, ladies & gentlemen… we’re about to see the most athletic finishing maneuver in wrestling which only occurs in rare occasions
Tazz: I’ve never seen it done before but now is better than never
(Dean looks out to the crowd as he strikes Booker a few more times to leave him dazed. The Iceman hooks Booker’s arms… jumps off the top rope with Booker hooked as the flashbulbs & cameras light up the whole arena at the amazement of Dean’s secret weapon)
Tenay: HE HITS IT! THE BOSS… THE TOPE ROPE BOX OFFICE SMASH CONNECTS!
Tazz: WOW, I’VE JUST SEEN IT AND I STILL CAN’T BELIEVE IT!
Tenay: Iceman is up to go for the pin … but so is Kane… KANE GRABS ICEMAN… CHOKESLAM! CHOKESLAM BY KANE
Tazz: Talk about turn of events!
Tenay: And Kane goes for the pin…1… and Kane….2… has become….3… the new champion
Tazz: I can’t believe it… it’s over
Winner – New MWC Evolution Champion Kane
Time – 12:24
Finkel: Your winner and the nnneeewwww MWC Evolution Television Champion Kane!
Tazz: Iceman Dean James has lost his title tonight to the Big Red Machine
Tenay: As we can see in the replay he hit the BOSS, which we rarely see, and it would’ve been all over there if he pinned Booker but as we can see Kane who quickly sat back up after the Scissors Kick landed a demanding Chokeslam to win the match
Tazz: And you can see on Iceman’s face he’s a little flustered by losing
???: Sorry you lost and my congrats go out to Kane for being the new MWC Evolution Television Champion
Tazz: What’s Russo want?
Tenay: Door #2
Russo: Goodnight everyone… (Starts to leave until)… Oh yeah, you lost didn’t you Dean; I guess you will get door #2. See it takes a man with a lot of balls to come into my office and make a statement like you did holding a belt in his hand already. A man like that deserves a second chance so in 2 weeks on the next Evolution it will be another triple threat… wait let’s make it special, let’s make it a Three Way Dance… Elimination Style… the MWC Championship match… the champion Raven against former WCW Champion Finlay… against former Evolution Television Champion the Iceman Dean James! Goodnight, people!
Tazz: WHAT!HAS RUSSO JUST DROPPED A BOMB!
Tenay: ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE (As Iceman is saying “Thank God”) IT WILL BE OUR MWC CHAMPION RAVEN TO FACE ICEMAN DEAN JAMES & FINLAY FOR THE MWC TITLE. WILL DEAN’S DREAM FINALLY COME TRUE?
FOR WCW’S TAZZ, I’M MIKE TENAY… GOODNIGHT EVERYONE!
(Show ends with Dean still looking out toward the ring saying “thank you”)
